Wound Awareness Week is just around the corner… and we need YOU.
Wednesday, 24 April 2024
Are you a clinician working with consumers living with wounds? Do you care for a relative or friend with a hard-to-heal wound, or have parents in aged care at risk of developing them? Please consider becoming a Wound Awareness Week Wound Champion.

Wound Awareness Week (2-8 September 2024) is the biggest event in the wound calendar and we hope you will become a Wound Champion and tell your story to help us shine a spotlight on Australia’s hidden epidemic.

We’re looking for people from all over Australia, of all ages and stages, to share their journey towards healing. What challenges do you face? How easy is it for consumers to find good advice? How are clinicians using their expertise to support wound healing?

We want to hear from you. It would involve:
  • A simple phone call with our communications team or answering a short online questionnaire
  • Factchecking a story we write for our website; here’s a previous example
  • Potentially talking to journalists about your experiences.
Interested? Please email our communications team and we will contact you.

About Wound Awareness Week

Each year, Wounds Australia advocates for more than 450,000 Australians living with chronic wounds – and the people who care for them – during Wound Awareness Week through education and awareness-raising. Our impact grows every year… but we need your help to get to the next level.

And there are plenty of ways to get involved. Tell us your story, share our social media content, host a gold coin morning tea and enjoy an oozy treat. The options are endless!
