Monday, 13 November 2023
STOP PI Day on Thursday 16 November is a great opportunity to spotlight the global problem of pressure injury (PI). To mark the day, we’ve put together a range of resources from our current and back catalogue to help care professionals better understand these often hard-to-heal wounds. Explore them below.

READ: Australian Standards for Wound Prevention and Management (4th edition)

The recently updated and revised Standards are a must-have for anyone caring for people with wounds and an essential guide to best practice. Best of all, they are completely free to download as a PDF, and available in print for a small fee (with discounts for Wounds Australia members). Alongside the Standards, you will find a range of other publications aimed at improving wound care in Australia and around the world through the sharing of best practice standards and evidence-based research. This includes the invaluable Pressure Injury Guideline and the free-to-download Pressure Injury Quick Reference Guide, a joint initiative of the EPUAP, NPIAP and PPPIA, of which Wounds Australia is a member.

DOWNLOAD: An essential international PI guide – free!

The International PI Guideline will be available to download electronically on STOP PI Day and beyond… completely free. And watch out for the updated edition in 2025.

WATCH: A pressure injury education event

To mark STOP PI Day 2023, we’re opening up the member-only archives to share this webinar from 2022. Just the Tip of the Iceberg looked at the often life-changing impacts of pressure injuries, reviewed the best practice guidelines for pressure injury prevention and explored navigating the NDIS to help people living with PI access the consumables they need.

EXPLORE: Read our factsheets

We have a range of factsheets aimed at consumers that touch on pressure injuries – risk factors, the potential consequences of leaving them untreated, some sources of professional advice, and more. Feel free to share these in your networks.
