Wounds Australia Committees Update

Over the years, so many Wounds Australia members have generously volunteered their time and expertise to helping us achieve our mission of improving wound care for more Australians. Our state and territory committees have produced some incredible professional learning opportunities that would not have been possible without their inspirational ideas, extensive networks and willingness to collaborate. Wounds Australia members will find recordings of many of these events in the webinar library in the member’s area of our website. We follow best practice in governance and work hard to ensure transparency in everything we do. Accordingly, our committees are asked to hold an annual meeting at which to vote in members and, when appropriate, elect a chair. As a result of those meetings, lots of changes have taken place in Wounds Australia committees this year and we summarise them below. ACT: The Committee welcomes new member Catherine West and thanks Marissa Bakker, who is leaving the committee. Cassandra Luke continues as Chair. NSW: Thank you to outgoing Chair Linda Cloete for her excellent leadership over the years, and Linda will continue to serve on the committee. She is replaced as Chair by Lyn Thomas. We also farewell Shifa Basjarahil, Sue Monaro, Heidi Webber and Rachel Hodges and welcome Stephanie Moore to the committee. Qld: Cathy Kindness steps down as Chair after a period of invaluable service and is replaced by Ut Bui. We farewell and thank both Cathy and Kathleen Finlayson for their hard work and dedication. SA: Sarah Christie is leaving the committee and Scott King is joining. Tas: We say goodbye and thank you to Chair Carol Baines and committee members Deb Carpenter and Deb Leo. WA: Farewell to Jess Barlow, Erin Stokes, Sharon Maclean, Jo Van Rooyen, Lusi Sheehan, Geetu Sabharwal and Claire Stephenson and welcome to Chia Chong, Vicki O’Neill, Amy Staples and Lavinia Williams. A heartfelt thank you to all outgoing volunteers for their many years of commitment. These changes will be reflected in our dedicated committee pages in coming weeks.
