Wounds Australia is well into the swing of 2017 with a number of branch, committee and portfolio meetings and activities underway. The National Office has also been busy, moving into our own office suite, setting up our phone number and we will shortly be managing all membership activities.

Membership Portal Downtime

To bring the management of Wounds Australia membership in-house and improve member services, the membership database will soon be migrated. To facilitate this migration the membership portal will be unavailable from 16 February until early March.

If you need to renew or update the details of your membership during the downtime period, please call the National Office on 02 6189 0756 or email membership@woundsaustralia.com.au.

Wounds Australia Tasmanian Launch

Tasmanian Wounds Australia members are invited to support and contribute to the re-establishment of an active state Branch. The inaugural meeting of the branch will be held 5.00pm, 28 March 2017 at Zeps Café Campbell Town.

Wounds Australia (South Australia) will host an Educational Evening 'KEBAB - KEeping Bugs At Bay' on Wednesday 22 February, presented by Sue Templeton.

Wounds Australia (Victoria) Twilight Seminar

Wounds Australia (Victoria) are hosting a twilight seminar, 'The Impact of Diabetes on Wound Healing and Infection', on March 7th.

Literature Review on Guidelines for Wound Research - Call for Applications

The Wounds Australia Research Portfolio is calling for applications to undertake a review of the literature on guidelines for research related to chronic wound prevention, assessment, diagnosis and management.

The review will identify gaps in information and present recommendations about the areas where additional guidance is warranted to provide support to novice and veteran researchers alike, including consideration of the Asia/Pacific area specific context and priorities. The outcomes of this literature review will assist the Wounds Australia Research Portfolio determine whether any position statements/guidelines should be generated.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified researchers to undertake the outlined literature review. Funding of $5,000.00 (AUD) is available to the successful applicant/s to undertake the literature review upon commissioning of the review. Applications are due by 31 March 2017.
