Linking Regional and Remote

Do you live or work near any of these locations?

The Wounds Australia (VIC) committee is keen to extend the popular Twilight Seminars, currently held 2 to 3 times each year at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, out to regional groups.

For this reason we are currently looking for volunteers to run seminars in the locations shown in the map below.
These locations have been chosen because most regional members will be able to drive to one of them in less than 1 hour (estimated driving times shown between locations – as indicated by Google Maps).

The organiser of the first regional twilight seminar in each location will be offered a year’s free membership.
If you think you can help, please let us know by registering your interest at
Someone from Wounds Australia(VIC) will then contact you.

What is a Regional Twilight Seminar?

Wounds Australia (Vic) Regional Twilight Seminars have been developed to provide regional and remote members the opportunity to get together to network and enjoy the presentation from Melbourne without having to travel to the city. The presentation will be live streamed so Regional and remote members will enjoy the same session at the same time as those attending the Melbourne venue.

When is the first Regional Twilight Seminar?

The first regional twilight seminar will take place on Friday, 27th November 2015.  We anticipate the Regional Twilight Seminars will begin at 6.00pm or 6.30pm for supper and networking, followed by the live webinar session from 7.00pm or 7.30pm.  The live session will normally run for 2 hours or less.

Who can attend?

All health care professionals are invited to attend, regardless of where they work.  It is hoped that these events will provide a forum for nurses, doctors, podiatrists and other allied health professionals to get together and network, in the interest of great wound management practices in their area of the state.

How will the presentation be seen regionally?

The presentation will be transmitted via the internet, like a webinar. You will be able to see and hear the presenter and also watch the PowerPoint at the same time. There will also be a chat box for you to ask questions?
Please note – this is NOT A VIDEO CONFERENCE.  Each location will need:

Will there be a charge?

The organiser of each event will not be charged, and the organiser of the first event for each location is being offered a year’s free Wounds Australia membership. Other Wounds Australia members will be charged $15, and non-members will be charged $30.

Who will take bookings?

The bookings will be handled centrally, by the Wounds Australia(Vic) secretary.  The local organiser will not be required to take bookings or handle money.

Will there be catering?

Yes, we think catering is important at networking events. The seminars usually start at a time when people are hungry!  Part of the delegate charge will be to cover the cost of catering.  Catering will need to be organised locally but Wounds Australia(Vic) will provide funds in advance for each registered attendee, so organisers are not out of pocket.  Organisers will need to provide copies of receipts for catering expenditure.

What does the local organiser need to do?

The local organiser will need to:
