Credentialing Program Application Guide
The application guide provides a guideline for the preparation of your application to become Wounds Australia Credentialed Professional.
The application process is completely online and involves the submission of several documents or records in a PDF format.
It is advisable to read the following documents before you start to fill the application.

Eligibility Requirements for Credentialing
Membership of Wounds Australia A Wounds Australia Credentialed Professional is required to be a member of Wounds Australia and to maintain membership for the duration of the credential.
Current Registration as a health professional Evidence of current registration from your relevant statutory regulation authority (e.g. AHPRA) is required. You will need to submit a copy of your current registration/practicing certificate.
Wounds Australia Credentialed Wound Professional (WA-CWP):
You must have completed an education course relevant to wound management.
Wounds Australia Credentialed Advanced Wound Professional (WA-CAWP):
Option A. You must have completed a post-graduate qualification AQF level 8 or above e.g Graduate Certificate/Diploma, Master degree, PhD.
Option B. If a postgraduate qualification as stated in Option A is not held, at least 15 years of experience in wound management; recognition for expertise in wound management; and, significant contribution to the field of wound management, must be demonstrated in a narrative document that provides a critical review of contribution and achievements.
Evidence of Professional Development
This criterion requires that you provide evidence that you have engaged in professional development that enhances wound management knowledge and practice. It also requires that the professional development was undertaken through a range of learning opportunities and that it occurred within the three (3) years prior to the application.
Professional support for credentialing demonstrates the value and respect of your knowledge, experience and practice in wound management by peers, supervisors, managers or other colleagues. The requirement for each credential is as follows:
WA-CWP: To meet the criteria for this credential, you must provide a letter of support.
WA-CAWP: To meet the criteria for this credential, you must provide:
i. two letters of support/recommendation AND
ii. a copy of a presentation OR publication OR research report in PDF format

Certification of Original Documents
If your original documents have not been issued by an Australian authority or institution, you are required to submit copies of documents which have been certified as true copies of the original document. If your document in is a language that is not English, you are also required to submit a certified copy of the official translation with the certified original document.
The Wounds Australia Credentialing Application fees are:
- WA-CWP – Members $250 – Non-Members -$400
- WA-CAWP – Members $450 =- Non- Members $600
- There is no annual Wounds Australia Credential fee.
