IHBI's Real Health free public lecture will focus on chronic wounds and treatment, diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers and the science of wound healing. It will include a Q&A panel.

Topics including:
- Current care and what we know
- Risk Factors
- Prevention and models of community care
- The basics of wound healing and future science

Speakers include:
- Professor Helen Edwards OAM leads QUT's Wound Healing Research Group
- Dr Christina Parker has been a registered nurse for 28 years, including in hospitals and in the community
- Dr Kathleen Finlayson is an Australian leader in wound healing and community outreach services
- Dr Tony Parker leads QUT IHBI's Tissue Repair and Translational Physiology Program, is a senior lecturer and has research in musculoskeletal and skin tissue injury and recovery

The Hospital in the Home (HITH) Society is a not-for-profit organisation. The HITH Society is the peak body representing doctors, nurses, allied health and other healthcare workers in Australia, Asian and the Pacific who provide Hospital in the Home (HITH) care. The HITH Society provides education, promotes networking through its Executive Council, represents its members by providing expert commentary and lobbying Governments at a local and Federal level on HITH issues.

The annual HITH Conference has become a cornerstone of the HITH Calendar and is the must attend HITH event of the year. The Conference will strive to offer plenty of networking opportunities to meet and interact with colleagues from Australia, New Zealand as well as our invited speakers, sponsors and exhibitors. The tradition of providing quality conference along with our social program will continue in 2019.
