Welcome to the New South Wales (NSW) branch of Wounds Australia. Our NSW branch is run by a network of dedicated Wounds Australia members who volunteer their time towards organising events, raising awareness of wound issues and supporting members in their local area.
In recent years our organisation has seen significant change, seeing our individual state associations joining forces as one united national body, Wounds Australia. This is an exciting change, as we now present a united front, as a single and stronger voice in Canberra, lobbying for better management and outcomes for our patients. We are also able to pool our resources for more efficient governing of our organization which directly benefits our membership.
Wounds Australia seeks membership from a range of health professionals, including nursing, allied health and medics. This interdisciplinary membership helps to raise the profile of wound management and improving care for people in our communities that suffer from acute and chronic wounds and promote an integrated approach to wound management.
Wounds Australia is the peak political and professional wound management body in Australia. Wounds Australia’s purpose in partnership and collaboration with members, consumers and other stakeholders is to provide leadership and education in the prevention and management of skin integrity and wound care. The website is a vehicle through which our members can both contribute to and have access to information required to provide best outcomes.
If you are considering becoming a member of our dynamic association then please take the opportunity to review the website where you will find further information of why joining this professional group will benefit your role as a health care professional. Membership provides a journal subscription to ‘Wound Practice and Research”, scholarship opportunities, regional education forums, access to networking groups, conference opportunities and much more!
